Wedding Photography feedback
This week I received some great feedback from a couple who’s wedding I recently photographed so I thought I would share it with you. There is a lot to think about when you’re photographing a wedding so it’s always rewarding to know my customers are so happy with the photos!
"You photographed our day perfectly, capturing the love and happiness from start to finish. We look at the photos now and we are able to remember every moment and emotion from our day, they really are outstanding. We love how helpful and attentive you were throughout the day, you listened to what we asked for but also took your own initiative and produced some truly fabulous shots .... The sunset shots are simply beautiful. You knew the best places both at the church and at the venue to capture the photos, you were very patient with us when getting the group photos and you have managed to capture the joy of the day in every photo. We would recommend you to anyone. You did a fabulous job. Thank you so much for photographing our special day, Jess & Adam"

Woldtop Brewery Wedding Photography
I’ve had three Autumn weddings over the last two weeks finishing with the wedding of Adam & Jessica at Woldtop Brewery in East Yorkshire. Today I was at local agricultural company James Mortimers Ltd to photograph the collection of a new trailer and to take some promotional shots for use on websites and social media. Whatever your business area it’s always great to keep people up to date with what you’re doing. For more advertising images click here.
Today I was asked to do a combination of photography and graphic design. Any alterations to this property require permission from the original builders. Obviously you wouldn’t want to spend money or proper plans if they aren’t going to give permission so I was asked to photograph the property and digitally alter the image to show the proposed changes. You can probably tell which one has been altered but it helps show the planned changes. For more information on Property Photography click here.
Family Portrait Photography
This week I was at the stunning Simonstone Hall Hotel in the Yorkshire Dales to take some family portraits. If you’re interested in some family portraits either locally or a bit further away then get in touch for a quote today. You can view more of my portrait work here.

Country Wedding Photography
This weekend I had the pleasure of photographing James & Sassi’s Wedding near Gilberdyke in East Yorkshire. The sun was shining from start to finish which was perfect for the ceremony which was all held outdoors. I started in the morning with the pre-wedding photos and then at lunch time I arrived at the venue to photograph the stunning displays of flowers and amazing arches set up for the ceremony. Through the afternoon I photographed all the groups and guests as well as the couple around the grounds. In the evening we were treated to this stunning sunset so we decided to take advantage of the opportunity and get a few more photos to finish off the day. City Of Culture Fireworks
Last night I had a trip to Hull to watch the start of the 2017 City Of Culture with a huge firework display on the Humber Estuary. Unsurprisingly there were thousands of people there and I wasn’t 100% sure on where the fireworks where going off but I set up on the bridge overlooking the Deep and managed to get a few shots I’m happy with. Here is one of my favourites. For more images of the display visit my Alamy page here.

Business Portrait Photography
Here is an image from a recent business portrait shoot for Sarah Wilkins at Diamonds Inside. I created a range of images for use in her website and marketing. As with most small businesses you are selling yourself as much as your service so it’s important to have some good quality images for potential clients to see when viewing your website because people like to see real photos of you and your business as stock images can just look a unrealistic. Ox Pasture Hall Wedding Photography
Recently I was at Ox Pasture Hall Hotel in North Yorkshire to photograph Kevin & Becky’s wedding. I had visited the venue with them about this time last year to plan out some photos but most of the images we had planned where in the grounds outside so we all had our fingers crossed for good weather. Luckily for Kevin & Becky there was only a few small showers first thing and then the weather gradually improved through the day. It was even nice enough for the ceremony to be held outside and later in the evening we were treated to a stunning sunset over the North Yorkshire countryside. For more wedding photography click here.
Sports & Fitness Photography
Today I was doing a fitness photoshoot for a local personal trainer creating some new images and video clips for their website. Carr Mount Estate Wedding Photography
This week I was photographing the first of two weddings I have in North Yorkshire this summer. Starting at Whitwell-on-the-hill near Malton to photograph Phil & Chloe’s wedding at a beautiful old church. Despite a few heavy showers the bad weather seemed to be perfectly timed to when we where indoors. After the ceremony everyone travelled over to Carr Mount Estate near Whitby for the reception and by the time we arrived the clouds had cleared giving us plenty of time to get all the formal and informal shots around the gardens before the speeches and meal in the onsite Wedding Tipi. Property Photography In North Frodingham
Today I was in North Frodingham to photograph a large five bedroom property. I visited the property twice to try and get the best light for the exterior photos because for exterior photos it’s always good to have the sun light coming from the best direction. For the interior though I have portable lighting and a wide angle lens which really shows of the size of the rooms. For more property photography click here.

After the ceremony and some shots outside the church everyone headed back to the families farm house and the beautiful marquee from Florida Marquee’s. The sunlight lit the gardens perfectly so we were able to get lots of great formal and informal shots throughout the afternoon and evening. For more wedding photography click here.

Pipe & Glass Wedding Photography
The Pipe & Glass in South Dalton is a beautiful venue. The garden out the back has plenty of space for group shots and the road leading into the estate also works well for pictures. When everyone arrived we headed out to the garden to take all the formal and group shots and then spent a bit of time take various photos of the couple around the grounds. For more wedding photography click here.
I had been asked by a local Jewellers to photograph this Rolex watch for a display in their shop. The image was going to be put on one of the shop walls which meant it needed very detailed processing to ensure their were no marks or specs of dust because any tiny marks would be very noticeable when the image is printed that large. I’m happy to say it’s now on the shop wall and looks great. For more product photography click here.
Business Portrait Photography

Destination Wedding Photography
Last week I was in America to photograph a wedding. The wedding was at Costa d’ Esta in Vero Beach, Florida. When I arrived I met with the couple to go through everything the next day. Weddings in most countries are fairly similar but there are always little differences in how they do things so it’s best to know as much as possible to make sure you’re in the right place for the photos! The next morning I spent my time between the bridal party and the groom and groomsmen. I had met most of the guests the night before at a meal so it made it a bit easier to make sure I was photographing everyone as they headed out to the beach for the ceremony. Been in Florida I was expecting non-stop sunshine but even in tropical climates theres a chance of rain and about 30mins before the ceremony a brief storm rolled in. Luckily I was on the balcony with the Bride and as the storm cleared we were treated to a rainbow over the ocean. After that the clouds cleared and everyone went down to the beach for the ceremony. We did some group shots on the beach and in the surf and then headed inside for the reception. Later in the evening we had a walk outside the hotel to take a few night time photos I had planned and then back inside for the evening reception and dancing! To see more Wedding Photography click here.
Well last night was incredibly cold and windy but it resulted in some spectacular photos. The charity ball at Saltemarshe Hall was finished off with a fireworks display. Both the venue and the firework company wanted some images to use in promotion and marketing material. As far as finale’s go this was one of the more impressive ones. I’ve photographed a number of weddings at The KP in Pocklington and it’s always a great venue to work at. This time I was there to photograph Ben & Sarah’s Wedding. The day started with the ceremony at Kilham Church and then it was over to The KP for the reception. On arrival I arranged everyone outside for the formal and group shots and then we had a bit of time to take some more informal and relaxed photos around the grounds before the meal and speeches. After the evening reception the day was topped of by a great firework display. For more wedding photography click here.

Alnwick Gardens Wedding Photography
A few years ago I was asked to photograph a wedding for a local couple at a venue in Northumberland. They stunning Alnwick Gardens is an amazing place to visit with the beautiful gardens and it’s numerous fountains it’s easy to see why it’s a popular wedding venue. Not wanting to risk been late on the day I travelled up the night before so I could meet the bride in the morning for all the pre-wedding photos. Then I headed to the venue to meet the Groom and Groomsmen and photograph the guests arriving until it was time for the Bride to arrive. After the ceremony in the beautiful glass pavilion we headed into the gardens to take all the formal shots around the fountains before heading round the gardens with the couple to take some more intimate photos in the evening light. Once we had finished it was back inside for the evening reception with the cake cutting and first dance. For more wedding photography click here.

Sledmere House Wedding Photography
One of the first big weddings I did was at Sledmere House which is a stunning venue set in the East Yorkshire wolds. There is a church within the grounds or in this case the wedding was in the house itself. I arrived about 9am to take the pre-wedding shots of the Bride and Bridesmaids before heading outside to photograph the guests arriving. I had planned a number of group shots as you can never be sure the weather will be nice on the day, luckily the sun was shining so after the ceremony we did a few group shots on the staircase inside and then headed into the grounds to take a few more group shots and then I walked round with the couple to get some of the images we’d planned out.
